Mike and Cheri von Behren- Owners

Mike and Cheri were both born and raised in Springfield, and they will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in January of 2009. They will also begin their 27th year in business. From just one employee in 1982, Michael von Behren currently employs sixteen. They know what it takes to stand out from other home builders and to fit into the complicated niche of home remodeling. Their business is successful, because they understand the disruption remodeling creates in their customers' lives, and they strive to make the remodeling process as painless as possible. Mike and Cheri's business philosophy is based on the delivery of the highest quality of construction services on time, on budget, and with the least possible disruption to their customer's lives. Remodeling Magazine recognized the company as one of the Top "Big 50" remodeling firms in the United States. In the same year, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce named Michael von Behren Builder Small Business Owner of the year.

Karen Hedge - Office Manager

Karen has been with Michael von Behren Builder, Inc. since May of 2003. The importance of the office manager can be summed up in one word: efficiency. Karen frees the von Behren team from a range of time-consuming responsibilities, allowing everyone in the company to concentrate on running the business and getting their jobs done. She gracefully and willingly juggles such responsibilites as secretary, receptionist, accounts manager, and troubleshooter. Karen's ability to handle whatever necessary to keep the company running efficiently makes her an asset to the family at Michael von Behren, Inc.

Jessica Reid - Designer

Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior and Environmental Design from the CIDA accredited program at Illinois State University. She has been with Michael von Behren Builder, Inc since August of 2004. Jessica utilizes ArchiCAD software by Graphisoft, which allows clients to view an entire project in 3-D or 2-D views during the design process. It's an excellent resource when customer's are overwhelmed with ideas or can't visualize the end result. Jessica dedicates herself to designing innovative and functional environments that positively impact the quality of life. Her education, talent and experience combined with her determination to achieve customer satisfaction makes her an asset to her clients and the team at Michael von Behren Builder, Inc.

Aaron Acree - Estimator/Project Manager

Aaron earned his Associates Degree in Construction Management Technologies from John A. Logan College in Carterville, Il. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Resource Management Technology with an emphasis in Construction Management and a Minor in Management. He joined Michael von Behren Builder, Inc. in June of 2006. Aaron's skills include some of the most important skills for a construction manager; He is flexable and has the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. He is decisive and works well under pressure, particularly when there are unexpected occurrences or delays. Aaron's ability to coordinate several activities at once, while analyzing and resolving problems is essential, as is his dedication to exceeding client expectations.
